The University of Washington Department of Linguistics has developed a new online Certificate Program in Natural Language Technology to meet a growing demand for expertise in this area.
This three-course certificate program is comprised of courses from the Computational Linguistics Master's Program, focusing in particular on the algorithms for annotating naturally occurring text in order to prepare it for a variety of data extraction purposes: sentiment analysis of product reviews, extraction of diagnoses from medical records, triage of customer service e-mails, and others.
Online students participate live and interactive through AdobeConnect. The program is steered by an advisory board that includes managers and researchers from many leading technology companies.
