Spectrogram Game (Level 1 of 5)

Take a look at our formant dips, stops and fricatives to figure out which image goes with which word! All images were made using the Praat software program; the horizontal axis represents time and the vertical axis represents hertz (0-5000). The LINGUIST staff speaks with several regional and L1/L2 accents, so be prepared for a lot of variation. We hope you enjoy the game.
