Systran Luxembourg S.A., a company based in Luxemburg and developing the Systran Machine Translation system, has an immediate opening for 3 language specialists to join its development team in Luxembourg on a full-time basis: 1. Greek-English language specialist This person will work on the development of the Greek-to-English translation system, and particularly on the English target language. This includes the coding of words and expressions in electronic dictionaries and the maintenance and creation of linguistic programs. Profile : - native English - excellent knowledge of (modern) Greek - university degree in philology, linguistics, languages, computational linguistics or equivalent - good knowledge/experience in one or more of the following areas would be considered an asset : * human translation * programming * programming language : C * natural language processing * Greek linguistics * Ancient Greek * computational linguistics * languages other than English and Greek * ability to work in a team and independently 2. Portuguese-English language specialist This person will work on the development of the Portuguese-to-English translation system, and particularly on the English target language. This includes the coding of words and expressions in electronic dictionaries and the maintenance and creation of linguistic programs. Profile : - native English - excellent knowledge of Portuguese - university degree in philology, linguistics, languages, computational linguistics or equivalent - good knowledge/experience in one or more of the following areas would be considered an asset : * human translation * programming * programming language : C * natural language processing * Romance philology * computational linguistics * languages other than English and Portuguese, preferably Spanish * ability to work in a team and independently 3. French-Portuguese language specialist This person will work on the development of the French-to-Portuguese translation system, and particularly on the Portuguese target language. This includes the coding of words and expressions in electronic dictionaries and the maintenance and creation of linguistic programms.
