- --The Extension of the Deadline for Application----- Opening of One Faculty Position at Miyagi Gakuin Women's College The Department of English, Miyagi Gakuin Women's College, Sendai, Japan has one faculty position to be filled by a contract associate professor, assistant professor or lecturer as of April 1, 1997. The contract is 2 years but can be extended for two more years. Selections are to be made on an open competition basis, and anyone as long as he/she fulfills the requirements is urged to apply for the position. The applicant should hold an MA degree or equivalent in the field of applied linguistics, and have publications related with applied linguistics. The applicant of any nationality can apply if he/she is a native speaker of English and has taught English to Japanese. The applicant must have working knowledge of basic Japanese, and must be under the age of 40 as of April 1, 1997. The courses to be taught include "English Conversation", "Essay Writing," "Overseas Immersion Program," and so on. DEADLINE: The deadline for receipt of applications is extended to January 11, 1997.
